On the 02/03/2014 Byers Green Haze Under 10s from Newcastle travelled on a football tour to Barcelona for an action packed weekend. The trip consisted of a training session with a qualified Spanish coach, a friendly match against FC Mountjuic from Barcelona, a stadium and museum tour of the Camp Nou (home of FC Barcelona) and finished with the group attending the La Liga match between FC Barcelona Vs Almera of which the group were privileged to see the likes of Lionel Messi and co win 4-1 .
In response to the weekend Byers Green manager Gareth Jackson said
The weekend was a massive success all round. Both parents and players were very impressed with every part of the weekend activities and the attention to detail given.
Paolo and Cristina could not have done more and the days ran like clockwork. A special mention must be given to the facilities, coaches, president and kids of FC Mountjuic as they put the “cherry on the cake” as far as the training session and game are concerned.
We are getting together to write a testimonial over the weekend for yourself, Paolo and everyone we met while in Barca,
I remember setting out a few years ago to make this happen. And, i did take 5 minutes out over the weekend to realise i did not think it would have been possible to give the kids such a once in a lifetime experience – and i must thank yourself and Paolo for this – Thank You from everyone at Byers Green Haze Under 10’s (Players, Parents and Coaches).
I will of course be highly recommending yourself and Paolo in the future but as i said i will forward an official tesimonial in the next week or so.
Thanks again, keep up the good work.
